Around Yishi

Yishi is 5 minutes drive, or 15 minute walk to:
Four supermarkets
A strip mall with book, electronics, clothing, department stores etc., café, restaurants
The train station offering service to most of Israel and the airport
Health services, pharmacies, laundry, restaurants, post offices and all the other services that Bet Shemesh offers.
5. A beautiful indoor pool and gymnasium with separate hours

Ramat Bet Shemesh is a 5 minute drive and offers similar services, plus some of the most suitable schools and yeshivos in Israel for children of American parents.

Away from Bet Shemesh, beautiful forests and farmland spread out away from Yishi toward the coastal plain. Hiking, horseback riding, mountain and road biking, bird and nature watching, and exploring this region is both pleasurable and inspiring. The sea is viewable from many nearby hilltops, and the three reservoirs just west of Yishi are naturally beautiful and are havens for migratory birds and all sorts of animals.

Of spiritual interest, Yishi is the closest current settlement to the Priestly Biblical City of Bet Shemesh, located immediately north of the Yishi access road. The tombs of Shimshon HaGibor and Dan ben Yaakov are in the immediate vicinity. The battlefield where David slew Goliot is a short car trip to the south.
